22 ounce bottle poured into a tulip. Bottle was purchased at Foothills for $3

A: Pours a beautiful rich copper color with a frothy 2 finger off white head. Good lacing and great head retention.

S: Nose is strong with toffee, and nutty scents. some grassy scents as it warmed up

T: Carmel malts, with some nuttiness and hop bitterness.

M: Very crisp and extremely refreshing. Leaves a nice chewy feeling in the back of my teeth along with a slightly bitter after taste.

O: This is a damn good beer I believe its the first I've reviewed of the style, but it is one of my favorite Foothills brews so far.

Pours a a nice clear rich copper color with a nice fluffy light tan head leaves some spotty lace behind.

Aroma is toasted malts some caramel hints light earthy notes.

Taste is almost like the nose malty goodness some good earthy notes. Fairly clean upfront but has some lingering almost toffee like notes in the finish. Pretty good example of the style worth trying for sure.

Mouthfeel is nice crisp light , easy drinking.

Overall pretty good brew.

Appearance: pous a reddish brown color with a 2" head.

Smell: light caramel and a hint of earthy tones comes through to the nose.

Taste: follows the nose as caramel, dark fruits, and some mild earthy tones create a simplistic Oktoberfest.

Mouthfeel: medium bodied beer. Lightly crisp from start to finish. Short lasting earthy aftertaste.

Overall: super easy to drink and though not a great Oktoberfest, it hits the spot when you want one.

Eh, lets be honest. This is an OK Oktoberfest. The flavors of an Oktoberfest are there, but all slightly muted. Honestly, this reminds me of a slightly watered down Sam Adams. The rick caramel malt flavor is missing, and the mouthfeel is slightly thin.

Ok, but there are better options out there.

on draft at beer study in chapel hill. teku glass.

dark red pour with an appropriate head. beautiful actually. very malty aroma, maybe closer to a dopplebock than a marzen. taste though is true enough to style. great malt character with a good hop punch. enjoyable. medium bodied, mild carbonation.

overall good and enjoyable. nothing outstanding but recommended.

Thanks to Wil for sharing this at the Oktoberfest extravaganza.
Quick review from notes.

Reddish amber color, thick head of foam that sticks and laces well in the glass. Long lasting retention, looks good in the glass. Good clarity, carb trails visible.

Simple grainy aroma, mild and malty.

Flavor is dry and grainy, mildly nutty malt character briefly at first, segueing into a mild grassy bitter finish. Light bodied with ample carbonation. Subtle and traditional, but it could use a tiny bit of sweetness or something to balance. Overall it was ok, and a cool label to add to the collection.

Poured from a bomber into a dimpled mug, the beer is a bright, vibrant, orange-copper coloring with a frothy, bubbly, filmy, off-white head. Aromas of caramel, toffee, and almond sweetness. It's like a splash of Amaretto into a solid Marzen. Smells sweet, but not overpowering. Flavors of roast and toffee sweet on the forward tongue, with with tangy caramel notes, roasted and nutty highlights, and a subtle bitter and earthy highlight that sharpens the edges a bit. Nice palate on a light, robust body. Roasted sweet aftertaste, with a clean, crisp, slightly sweet finish. Easy to drink with a great flavor profile.
