Had this many times in the past on tap, but now available in bombers. Very fresh bombers. As in bottled 5 days ago.
Gold pour with just a hint of orange. Frothy 1-finger off white head. No retention and thin lace.
Nose is dark earth hops and syrupy malt. The two flavors combine well. Strong hop oil and a thick bread flavor.
Fresh makes a huge difference here. Hop oil and esters combine. Gets a bit floral, but not too much so. Just a hint of pine. Lots of malt backbone, but the hops come out on top. Light pepper in the finish. Strong hop oil aftertaste. Just delicious. But sneaky ... hides the abv very well.
Feel is spot on. Thick, syrupy body stands up well to the oily hop flavor.
Overall, I'll be back quick to get a few more before this batch is gone.

Poured on-tap and served in a shaker pint, the beer is a bright, copper-gold coloring with a fluffy, tight bubbled, white head. Aromas of spice and resinous hops, with grapefruit and tropical fruits abound. Flavors are roast forward, with a toffee and roasted backbone supporting a blending of tropical fruit rich sweetness and peppery spiced notes. Balanced and smooth. The aftertaste is resinous and tangy sweet, with a smooth, clean finish. Tasty and surprisingly drinkable.
