First of all, a growler of this delicious brew was provided to me by my good friend, Dan (goindownsouth), which I stored in the fridge for four to six weeks before enjoying with 15 friends last nite. Out of 17 brews sampled last nite, this one was the hit of the session.
When the beer was poured, it had a copper-like appearance with a small amout of lacing that disappeared. The aroma of this beer was very noticable....a combination of pine needle and citrus with a slight grassy fragrance. The nose and palate were in harmony in terms of the intial hop taste sensation. The flavor suggested to me that the right amount of Amarillo hops were used for bittering. As the glass warmed, the caramel malt provided the backbone to this brew and the excellent balanced taste.
The mouthfeel gave an indication of a slightly undercarbonated brew, but this is not unusual for a DIPA, especially one that saw some travel and storage time. For a 9.5% abv, it is surprisingly drinkable.
I look forward to drinking it again and sharing it again with friends.

Fairly clear deep golden with a lingering frothy ivory head.
Aroma is resin, citrus, lightly floral, and malty.
Flavor has a strong, slightly sweet malty base, with notes of resin throughout. Citrus and bitterness are secondary.
Body is fairly full, with moderate carbonation and light alcohol warmth.
Not as hoppy as I expected. Fairly sweet, and I hoped for more character.
