A: Poured a cloudy orangish amber color with a large, lasting off-white head, leaving behind some pretty good lacing

S: Aroma is citrus/pine hops and caramel malt.

T : Fairly sweet caramel malt, earth, fruity notes, and loads of citrusy/piney/resiny hops. This beer also has a very prominent husky, grainy presence from start to finish.

M: Medium bodied, sticky, lots of IBUs, plenty of hop oils and flavor stick to the mouth

O: Very nice IIPA.

The Bruery tulip

A: Hazy deep orange color. Half finger fluffy off white head. Sticks around a while. Nicely carbonated.

S: Getting lots of citrus fruity hop character. But there is also a good aroma of sweet male balance. I do catch a touch of booze actually.

T: Tip if the tongue, hop bitterness. Not 126 IBU at all. It's that soapy-orange marmalade-piney flavor that is customary in DIPA. There is some of that caramel malt balance, some breadiness. Finish is dry. Don't taste the ABV at all.

M: Medium bodied. Mouth coating of hoppy notes.

Served on tap at Foothills Brewing Company in Winston-Salem, NC.

A: Pours a mostly clear bright golden orange in color with moderate amounts of visible carbonation. The beer has a finger tall light beige head that slowly reduces to a large patch of very thin film and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light to moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate to strong aromas of citrus/grapefruit/orange and pine hops.

T: Upfront there is a moderate amount of caramel malt sweetness with big flavors of citrus/grapefruit/orange and pine hops. Moderate amounts of lingering bitterness.

M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly creamy with light to moderate amounts of dryness in the finish.

O: A little too big of a DIPA to really be easily drank - there were some hints of the alcohol in the mouthfeel and just a touch in the taste. The beer was very enjoyable with really nice flavors and aromas.

22 ounce bomber poured into a pint glass.

A: Pours a slightly hazy copper color with a 1 finger head and nice lacing.

S: Floral and citrus hops...very sweet smell. Nice and inviting.

T: Great balance of hops and malt. Slight alcohol presence, but it's hard to tell the true ABV. Very easy to drink.

M: Medium to full bodied with good carbonation.

O: Another great offering from Foothills. I'm so lucky to live just a few miles from the brewery.

was visiting family this weekend in NC so nabbed a bottle of this while in the area. enjoyed from my duck rabbit snifter.

a - brew poured a deep murky amber with a thin foamy head that was gone rather quick. some bubbles lay rest on the surface of the brew, but definitely a-typical for the style. swirling the glass brought things back to life, but again gone quick. lacing was spotty if present at all. some visible carbonation could be seen. the color is really nice, but a bit darker than one would expect.

s - yum. what this beer lacks in appearance, it makes up for in smell. big burst of citric happiness. rich, thick, and syrupy. keep going back for more sniffs, really nice. fresh. dank. not piny and sweaty, but rather fruity and inviting.

t - as the nose suggested, great fruity citric burst, however the flavor is much more dank and resinous than the nose suggests. sticky. a bit of alc on the tongue and a touch of bitterness on the finish.

m - full and rich. medium to full bodied. a bit boozy. not overly bitter.

o - overall, a really nice double ipa, worth checking out for the fans of the style.
