A: Apricot in color, hazy with a few floaties. The head is off white and falls into a rocky texture with some large bubbles.

S: The hops come across as earthy and herbal, with perhaps a touch of a spicy note. The finish is breakfast bread, and perhaps some grapefruit.

T: There is certainly some bitterness in there. Earthy, herbal, perhaps grassy. The finish has a touch of grapefruit peel, and a lingering bitterness.

M: Medium in feel, carbonation is on the higher side. Tannic finish with a bitterness that lingers into tomorrow.

O: Overall it's a decent beer, but perhaps a little on the earthy side for my tastes.

Poured a slightly cloudy medium dark amber. There is a foamy head but it has no retention. There's a smidgen that lasts around the circumference and leaves a bit of lacing. The aroma is very citrusy hops with a hint of caramel malt and a bit of funkiness. The taste follows closely with the aroma. The body is a little thinner but with a crisp finish. It's a decent IPA.

A- cloudy, with a beautiful burnt orange color, tons of pieces of hops and yeast chunks despite only pouring 3/4 of the bottle. Just a few off white bubbles in place of a head. I'm fine with not filtering but give me a warning and don't carry over the hops!

S- pungent, resinous, and dank with blackberry, raspberry and kiwi. Strong caramel sweetness and a touch of herbal also in the mix.

T- relatively light, citrusy flavors. Middle is a biscuity malt which fades to fairly high, astringent bitterness. Columbus hops seem to dominate with a Simcoe pine character also present but little citrus or juicy character.

M- thin, lightly carbonated. The thinness seems to accentuate the bitter finish but does little else for the beer.

O- this one was a disappointment. A few muddled, stale malt flavors and a bunch of bitter, astringent, medicinal pine is all that really comes through. Oh, and it's ugly.

Poured chilled in flared sampling glasses chez moi, consumed ca. 5 months after canning

A: amber color, good head; decent carb; not much lacing;
S: sweet malt aroma but something, I'm not sure, is off; citrus
T: very bittering hop-forward, way out of balance from the malt, etc.; lingering bitterness, almost as if a bittering hop has been used as a finishing hop; don't detect the Northwest hops advertised;
M: medium-light

Not planning on buying this again

12 FL. OZ. bottle
Served in a tulip

A - It is amber with golden highlights. It is capped with three inches of beige head.

S - I smell some citrus. Grapefruit seems to be at the forefront.

T - This is a citrus forward beer. The citrus is not overwhelming. It is crisp and has a lingering grapefruit bitterness.

M - Moderate with plenty of carbonation.

O - It is an above average IPA. It is definitely worth a taste or two . . . etc. But with so many options in this style it could easily be lost in the masses.

OK AIPA, nothing special. Pours a hazy orange color. A hard pour gives you a big frothy antique white head with fairly good retention. There are some thick bands of lacing on the glass.

Aroma is fairly mild....no big hoppy presence here. Some bitterness and some biscuity malt.

Flavor is about the same. There is some bitterness, some dry biscuity malt and a little sweetness from caramel malt. Didn't get any distinctive Simcoe hop aroma or flavor. The overall beer is malt forward with the bitterness more in the finish.

Mouthfeel is crisp and a little dry. RIch enough for an AIPA.

Overall pleasant but there are SO MANY better AIPAs out there.
