From notes. Poured from a 22 oz. bottle into a tulip.
The pour is dark brown in color, but it is noticeably thin from the pour. A light brown or ruby meniscus.
The aroma is full of dark chocolate and Pappy. The aroma blends well together, the sweet dark chocolate and the dryness of the oak and Pappy is an interesting effect.
The flavor starts sweet, with lots of milk and dark chocolate. As the sip continues, the Pappy comes into play, adding a warming sensation to the stomach. Roasted malt, some espresso, and a bit of vanilla add some depth. The chocolate and Pappy really control the flavor, though.
The body is a little bit lighter and more watery than I would like in my barrel aged imperial stouts. Overall I felt it was fairly smooth, with a proper medium carbonation and an alcohol presence that stayed in the background.
Overall I found this to be an above average beer. When compared to other top tier barrel aged beers, though, it does not compete.

2013 bottle, poured into Sexual Chocolate teku glass
A- pours pitch black with a small light tan creamy head that reduces to a ring, leaving just a few patches of lace
S- prominent barrel aroma with bourbony oak, sweet molasses, toffee, fig & raisin and a hint of vanilla
T- bourbon and oak up front that compliments the base beer very well, really bringing out the molasses flavor. Good chocolaty base with dark fruit notes, leading to a finish of oak, bourbon and vanilla
M- medium body and carbonation, foamy mouthfeel that leads to a smooth and slightly warming finish, abv is hidden pretty well
O- the bourbon is nearly perfectly integrated with an already solid base beer. I wasn't blown away by the original Sexual Chocolate, but I was really impressed by this version
