2011 vintage on tap at the release.
A: Dark black with a small tannish/brown head. Nice looking beer, but nothing that sets it apart.
S: Wow bourbon! There's also some oak, dark sweet malts and chocolate. I'm optimistic.
T: Damn, this is great! It's very bourbon forward, with some chocolate and oak. The bourbon/barrel flavors go very well with the base beer, which is a sweeter stout. There's not a lot of roastiness going on here. It reminds me a lot of Goose Island Bourbon County Stout honestly, in a good way, since that's one of my favorite beers.
M: It's medium-bodied for a stout, not super huge, not too thin, and it's a little bit sticky.
O: I'm very impressed with this beer, and maybe it's because I went into drinking it with low expectations, but it's damn good. It's a great bourbon barrel stout if you like yours' more on the bourbon/chocolate/sweeter side of things and less on the roasty side, which is just fine with me.
