2010-2012, 2017 were brewed at Foothills Brewing. 2009 at Olde Hickory.

Duck Rabbit, Olde Hickory, and Foothills each contribute the wort from their signature imperial stouts. The combined brew is then aged in 23-year old Pappy Van Winkle barrels with honey and cocoa nibs.

Very cool beer to obtain being an old money fan. Collab from three classic breweries. Can't find a bottle date. This is however bottle 350 of 694 so im sure that could pinpoint the year if i did some digging.

Cellar temp. Looks magnificent. Rich, frothy head. Smells a smidgen off. A metallic note of pennies or nickels.

Taste is nice. Very classic RIS with bakers cocoa and roast. Not over the top bitter though. Not getting any of the honey mentioned on the label, nor any barrel. Definitely tastes very old and aged, but not off. But chalky, dry, scratchy finish screams of oxidation. Still though, quit enjoyable and incredible basic but well done beer. You know, like when breweries could kill a beer with just the four main ingredients.

Feel is solid for a 10% imperial stout.

Overall a cool old school tick. Be nice to try again fresh in a smaller format if I ever get the chance to.

Poured from a 22 oz bottle into a snifter.
L - Pours a dark brown with. Tan head.
S - Smells of bourbon and chocolate.
T - Taste matches the smell, lots of bourbon and chocolate, with some honey in the finish.
F - full body with medium carbonation.
O - Delicious stout.

Came in a goblet nearly jet black but I did notice a bit of a brownish/red colored tint when in a more lighted space,a thinner but pretty well sustained deep beige head atop.Bourbon soaked dark fruits, roasted coffee, and more of a bitter chocolate element. The bourbon barrel plays a big role on the palate bringing sweetness and a vanilla tinge to dark fruits, more chocolate came in as I drank more along a bit of roast. The sweetness gets pretty big after awhile as the bourbon and dark fruit flavors really command a presence but it's a rich decadent stout so everything flows pretty well for what it is.

2017 release, on draft at Foothills. Cacao nibs, honey, floral hops and vinous grapes on the nose. Aggressive and sharp on the palate, from the tannic notes and dry bitterness of the base RIS's. Complex as it warms, but a bit muddled, as the three stouts compete more than they harmonize.
