This was alsways a fall staple for me when I first moved to NC.,I had it for the first time this year on tap at MCcoul's in Greensboro this weekend.Poured into an imperial pint glass a deep copper/bronze with a thinner white head atop.Mild spiced notes in the nose, mainly nutmeg and cinnamon.A well rounded palate with the spice not being over the top, cinnamon stands out mainly, not overly sweet wich is a good thing. An easy going but flavorful pumpkin, again a regular for me in the fall here in NC.

Undated 12 oz bottle but very good reason to believe this is a 2013 vintage. ABV listed as 5.3% with IBU at 5.2. Pours with a decent head, excellent clarity and a fine orange-amber color. The head is rather short-lived and lacing soon becomes minimal too. The aroma has a nice spice mix with nutmeg and connamon most prominent. Plenty of pumpkin pie spicing in the taste, but not quite overdone, featuring nutmeg, clove, ginger and cinnamon. Some bisquitly malts and winter squash (pumpkin?) in the mix too. Near medium body with medium+ carbonation.

O: Lower ABV and flavor strength than the Terrapin Pumpkinfest that proceeded it, but it has very similar spicing. Very drinkable for a spciy ale.

From notes 10/29/11

Pours a dark, brownish amber with ¼” of bubbly head that has decent retention. The nose has notes of allspice, cinnamon, and pumpkin. The taste is caramel, allspice, nutmeg, cinnamon, pumpkin, and a hint of ginger. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and well carbonated.

Overall, a nice, balanced, drinkable pumpkin. It’s nice to have a pumpkin ale that’s not overly spiced.

Served from tap into a shaker. Poured copper with a half finger slightly off-white head that subsided to a minimal amount slowly. Maintained decent lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, pumpkin, spice, brown sugar, and grain. The flavor was of sweet malt, pumpkin, pumpkin spice, and brown sugar. It had a light feel on the palate with medium-high carbonation. Overall this was a pretty decent brew. I have always been a fan of this brew back when Cottonwood brewed it and was glad to see that Foothills is continuing to brew it. Same flavors and aromas going on as the one that I used to drink last year, but everything is a little kicked up in intensity. Pretty nice balance going on that keeps your palate on its toes. Definitely worth trying if you have not done so with the old one or the new one.

A- pours clear and amber with a nice off-white foamy/creamy head that retains long after the pour, leaving some short lasting lace behind

S- nice bouquet of typical pumpkin spice aroma of nutmeg and clove with more of an emphasis on the cinnamon. There's also a nice earthy/woodsy aroma, overall more aromatic than most pumpkin ales

T- the cinnamon emphasis follows in the flavor as well, as it is immediately noticed with some baked cinnamon apple flavor. Clove and pumpkin spice comes through mid-palate wi a nice malty finish

M- medium body with low carbonation leads to a slightly slick mouthfeel with just a bit of foam on the finish

O- this is a solid pumpkin ale, it definitely emphasizes the pumpkin spices more than pumpkin itself, which some may not like. But overall worth a try.

Clear, light copper colored beer with a momentary white head. Little to no lacing.

A nice spice blend in the aroma, with a sweet, malty backbone. Nice aroma.

Decent flavor. Sweeter than most pumpkin ales I've tried.

Medium-thin bodied beer with a crisp, dry finish.

This is an above-average pumpkin ale. No complaints here. It was much better than I anticipated.
