Foothills can take an ordinary cream ale and make it something to look for.Poured into a becker a dull lighter lemony yellow with a half finger bone white head that held good retention. There is a good hop presence in the nose, the Centennial hops make a give off a big citric presence to mix with the sweet corn notes, the hoppiest aromas of any cream ale I have had.Toasted cereal grains with some sweetness on the palate, the hops do come thru with leafy/citric finish.I gotta say I really like this beer and will have friends who are not craft drinkers give this a try, well done.

Brewed to celebrate the hundredth anniversary of the merger of the cities of Winston and Salem in 1913....

Appearance: Pours a hazy goldenstraw capped by an inch of foam; the retention was decent and the foam left a few trails

Smell: Shortbread, with a hint of lemon

Taste: Shortbread malts, up front, with a lemon cake aspect developing in the middle; the finish is nicely balanced

Mouthfeel: Light bodied (a bit aqueous) with moderate carbonation

Overall: When I saw that this beer had only 15 IBUs I was prepared for a big letdown, but this beer was actually somewhat flavorful and refreshing; it was brewed to be an approachable beer to be served to the masses at the centennial weekend celebrations and I suspect it was well appreciated by a lot of folks who otherwise have had limited exposure to craft beer
