Appearance: cloudy, neon yellow, 1/4 inch head

Smell: wheat and lemon..very crisp and clean

Taste: wheat, lemon, and a bit of belgian spice

Mouthfeel: super smooth, light bodied, sweet

Drinkability: A slightly above average wheat beer, that follows the North Rock formula..clean beer that is light for the style...Sessionable in the heat and it hits all the right flavors.

Served on tap in a traditional bar glass. Bermudian holiday, so thought I'd try some craft brews.

Pours cloudy pale yellow, foamy, sticky. Yellow black color. Wheaty smell. Light taste is wheaty, with some sour notes of banana. Smooth. Light sour close. No bitter. Light easy tasty.

Pretty good beer to start off with.

6 oz. pour (served with obligatory lemon wedge), sampled at The Frog & Onion (The Dockyards/Bermuda).

Apparently all North Rock beers are now being brewed by Dockyard Brewing Co., on premises of F&O. NRBC then sells them at their South Road pub under the same names.

Description (from menu): "A typical German Hefeweizen, this light and refreshing ale is made using a combination of wheat and barley malts from Europe. Brewed using only German hops this summer thirst quencher is served with a traditional slice of lemon". ABV not listed.

A: Rather thinly hazed pale yellow, hardly the dense and cloudy pour I'd expected. Head is short, a white creamy/sudsy blend no more than a 1/4" tall. No rising carbonation, a few strands of lace glide down the glass.

S: Good aroma of wheat, lightly bready and quite yeasty.

T: Also quite yeasty; 'dinner roll' was my wife's quick description. Lightly sweet and doughy, a mild lemon tartness that was (I'm pretty certain) not due to the wedge placed on the rim. Soft, grassy hop finish with a trace of mint.

M: Very thin, watery. A bit of silty, unfiltered graininess. Felt rather dull, lacking carbonation.

D: Taste and aroma are moderately successful here, but overall the look and feel are just way too weak. 'Summer thirst quencher' seems apt in the description, my guess is the ABV here is in the 4.5-5% range. Easy enough to drink, but an 'average' representative of the style (at best).

Draught @ Frog & Onion: This one pours a cloudy, straw yellow color. There was a very small white head on it and some lacing. It has a nice nose. Clove, citrus and some banana. The taste is good. Slightly lighter body. Wheat, clove, faint banana and lemon. A decent Hefe.

Sample at the Frog & Onion in Bermuda: Served with a lemon, this beer pours a hazy yellow color with a thin white head. Top ring of lacing with spots underneath. Wheaty aroma with touches of fruit. Light body with moderate carbonation and flavors of wheat, malt and hops. The finish is clean and wheaty. Decent overall.

Had this on 6/8/11, but just found my notes now; didn't want to try to guess and enter without them.

Light and pale, unfiltered, nice with a little head; served with a lemon.

Smelled slightly lemony. Tasted dryer than expected--it was good for the hot day. Not a lot of body.

It's one-dimensional, but I'd have it again.

Decent wheat beer here. Pale golden with a white head that dwindles to a thin white lace. This beer has a very distinctive flavor, unlike any other wheat beers I've tasted, but I can't quite identify what sets it apart. Tasted just fine after a day in the Bermuda sun.
