Poured from a 750mL corked-and-caged bottle into a tulip.

A - Pours a translucent yellow-orange with one finger of sticky white foam that leaves an intricate pattern of lace on the side of the glass.

S - Solid, bready malt character with lemon zest and grassy hop aroma.

T - Great bready malt flavor with a lemony tang and the grassy, floral taste of noble hops. Hop bitterness is moderate and spot on. Really well done.

M - Light body, perky carbonation, yet creamy due to its unfiltered nature.

D - Easy to drink, but with tons of flavor. One of the best lagers I've had in some time. Definitely a beer to seek out.

Poured into a pilsner glass, it was hazy yellow gold color with champagne-like bubbles racing up the brew and as expected had a massive 4-5 finger snow white foamy head that looked like soap overflowing from a washing machine; the head was full of bubbles of all shapes and sizes and dissipated very slowly leaving great foamy lacing and rings as it went down. The head never went away and was very impressive, it looked like a well-hopped DIPA and each pour from the bomber kicked up more cloudy sediment.

Smells of sweet malt, wheat bread, wet cardboard, yeast, light caramel and floral hops or herbs. Slightly skunky yeast odor then trails off fruity and hoppy with a touch of spices; not quite a lager and not quite a Belgian nose, a mix of the two that was alright.

Tastes like a rich malty lager, with wheat bread, funky yeast or a penny/metallic flavor, tea leaf, biscuit, lightly roasted grains, caramel, floral hops, fruit like apple skin, lemon, dry grass or hay, and light hoppy spices; the flavor is on the sweet side, but it has that German beerhall flavor that dares you to pound it as it is easy to drink with a fine balance of malt and hops.

Mouthfeel is creamy and almost smooth, with very mild carbonation, a medium to almost chewy body, and a slightly bitter sweet malty finish that has some lemon zest and hop bite to it.

The Kellerbier/Zwickelbier style is not one I get my hands on often, but this was quite good and sessionable, one I recommend trying as it was tasty with a low ABV. Would love to pound about 10 of these on a sunny Saturday afternoon and see what kind of chaos would follow, in the spirit of German brewing, of course...

375ml bottle. Weizen glass. - sweet malt & honey aromas fly at the moment cap is removed. Golden color, crystal clear appearance. White froth, foamy & lasting thin layer on top, spots are left on sides. Slightly woody, grainy & malty aromas. Crispy upfront, light citric flavor & arising bitterness rounded by green wood & light piney hues. Light body. Soft carbonation. Dense palate & spicy touch, gentle effervescence but no watery sensation. Low herbal, honey notes & clean bitterness –allowing caramel be shown- resolve in a dry bitter/sweet finish. Refreshing & nice drinkability !!

A - Poured a hazy, yellow gold into a Pilsner flute. Lots of very white foam that continues to coat the surface of the beer all the way down the glass. Lots of thick lacing along the glass.

S - Interesting aroma, lots of spice suggesting Noble hops, with some cereal grain at the end.

T - Lots of initial spicy hop bitterness on the tongue at first, then following with some toasted bread notes.

M - Very soft and light on the palate.

O - An excellent, drinkable beer. I'd prefer it in the summer, but didn't want to wait.

Appearance: It has a nice semi-hazy golden/yellow color to it. It has a nice thick white head that dies down slowly and leaves some nice lacing.

Smell: The aromas definitely give out hints of oranges, mango, grassy hops, some sweet caramel and bready malts.

Taste: Like the aromas, it has an orangy/mango fruitiness, a grassy hop bitterness, a slight earthiness, faint honey/caramel and some bready malts.

Mouthfeel: It has a high carbonation with a nice overall balance and feel.

Drinkability: It's a very smooth drinkable beer accompanied with good flavors and aromas.

Small bottle from Peluso in Montreal. Bottled about 3 months ago. From notes.

A - Poured a nice hazy golden orange colour. Strong carbonation and a two finger fluffy white head. Great wall of lace and a half finger of retention.

S - Orange, yeast, grass.

T - Orangey yeast, crackers, maybe wheat? Sweet fruits.

M - Strong carbonation, medium body and a sweet grassy finish.

O/D - A little underwhelming, but decent for the style I suppose. Enjoyed the 375mL format b/c I probably wouldn't finish a 750 of this.

A rare five on appearance. Giant egg shell head fills the flute of the tulip glass. Settles slowly, sea foam consistency. Thick lacings right to the finish. Peach colour. Appropriately cloudy. Just wonderful.

Fresh grass seed with some generous noble bitterness. Subtle honey sweetness underneath.

Wet hay and honey sweetness blends seemlessly with fresh grass which morphs into a nice resinous bitterness, pine.

Spot-on keller. Can easily imagine drinking this at a German country brew house.

A - Pours a slightly hazy golden copper colour, finger of head with solid retention and nice sheeting lacing.

S - Leafy green hops, grassy notes, vegetal greens and a wheat malt finish.

T - Much like the nose with heavy grassy hops dominating, sour citrus hop notes come through alongside a bready malt profile and some wheat grass on the finish. The citrus bitterness is surprisingly strong on the finish.

M - Medium bodied, smooth and wet.

O - A great example of the style, loads of flavour and easily sessioned. I could pound this stuff for days!
