Pours a deep reddish-brown color topped with a generous beige foam. Fair head retention. Fragrance of caramel, toast and brown bread. Slightly fruity. Malty and caramel to taste with a good dose of malt bitterness and a tad piney. Finishes dry and a lingering residual fruit and malt.
Very good!

Full amber. Nice head fastly disappearing.
Malty, slightly smokey, still very mild and non-complex smell.
Taste of smoked malt. A little anonymous, not sweet and not bitter. Feels like a bland commercial Belgian and just at the end of the bottle I got the Bock aftertaste.
Medium to light body and carbonation.
Smooth and easy to drink despite the ABV. Forgettable but still an enjoyable beer.

On tap. Smooth mouth feel. Flavorful - how to describe? Earthy.

Good, but not great.
Looks the part of a German bock, brown but not dense. My Smeller detects sweet malt, but not lots. Tastes are balanced, just enough hops to check the sweet and cleanse the palate... and the bubbles help.
A northern Italian brewer, Rossa paired quite well with rich pizza at the, Princi, a Milano-originated cafe in Chicago. It all fit.
Going on Carlsberg Italia's site, I got more insight into the global brand manager that also ranks in the top handful of brewing groups. Their purchase of Poretti (soon to be 50 years) is among the 150 brewers they own. While I could not find its English button, Italia has a diverse portfolio. The global corporate stuff was in English, so I developed greater respect for Carlsberg as a responsible, sustainable global citizen. After all, it is not just about taste when the planet is suffocating itself. Sourcing and brewing locally helps.

Very dark hue, I would say brown, impressive.
Foam not very creamy, bubbles dimension > normal.
Overall feeling is set much more towards a tripel even if we're talking about a bock.
Considerable bitter aftertaste.
Not an easy beer, had some tripels that were much more drinkable than this one.
Avoid.
33cl glass bottle. Price is cheap.
