Batch 955
Apart from 'generic' lager and the odd half hearted attempt at a pilsner, this is probably the first Scottish brewery to attempt a German speciality. It is not easy to find either and this adds to its uniqueness.
I was first struck by its unique rich caramel medicinal smell. Rich dark slightly cloudy brown in colour with a beige to tan head. Easily forming head that leaves delicate lacing. Very smooth with a real absence of carbonisation. Like the nose rich medical and earthy to taste though could do with some fruit to make it more complete.
A good attempt at this style, I hope there's more still around when I attempt to re-stock.
