This place is located in a shopping center next to a medical office, sandwich shop, and a Little Ceasars

They are a grocery store like the previous review said

They carry all the beers you would find at a Vons, Stater Bros., or Raplhs, but have a decent microbrew section as well

You will find Alesmith, Lagunitas, Fullers, Stone, Pyramid, Lost Coast, etc.

Prices are little steep, but so is the food in this place, definitely targeted for the upper middle class people in the area

Have about a hundred different beers total

Too bad they do not sell singles out six packs because they have pretty nice selection in those, but prices are too much to spend on six beers

Not really worth checking out unless you live in this city like myself

As background, Annette's ("Essentential & Fine Foods, etc.") is a relatively new (a couple years old?) upscale gourmet-type grocery store in the eastern residential part of Redlands, not far from the University of Redlands. The building used to be the second Gerrard's upscale grocery store in town (see beerfly review for the one that's still open) before it closed. The new Annette's is about half the square footage of the old Gerrards.

This is not primarily a beer store, it's mostly a grocery store (about 8-10 aisles worth) with a very nice wine selection. But tucked away in the back (and more recently, even prominently shown on a display up front near the registers) is a pretty nice selection of craft beers. Until the recent opening of BevMo in town, this was definitely the best selection in town.

In a quick (guesstimate) count, I figure there are about 120-150 different beers in this store- not shabby at all. Of course, by the time you take out the BudMillerCoorsGuinnessCoronaHeineken crowd, it reduces the number substantially, but it still leaves enough for a thirsty BeerAdvocate. At last peek, I saw a nice selection of Flying Dog, Alesmith, Stone, Left Hand, Lost Coast, Alaskan, Chimay, Kasteel, Samuel Smith, Fullers, a variety of German Brews, and this was the first place I ever found a Abbaye des Rocs. So it's not bad stuff. But overall it's beer you can find elsewhere; with the exception of Abbaye des Rocs, just about everything can be found elsewhere.

There is a small cooler with 6 packs and singles. No splitting of 6 packs. Includes a small glassware selection (mostly Stone glasses).

Nothing to say about service- the place is always very quiet, and the help all seem to be High School/College locals working part time- not exactly beer experts. I haven't met the manager/buyer.

Overall, a good place if you are living or visting the vicinity. Not sure I would make a special trip to get to it, but still pretty nice.
