This was the best place that I found in the McAllen area. As soon as I walked in the building I was asked, If I needed any help. Then few minutes later another person came by and asked if I needed any help. Holiday has its own room for the beer. Some of the beers are cold and in coolers and some are at room temperature on the shelves. The prices were resaonable. Holiday does not rare or special beers, to out of the way for. They have the largest and best selection of beers that I saw in the McAllen area. If back in the area I would go back again.

A Holiday Wine And Liquor I have only been to once. The prices were resonable and the service was outstanding. I was ask if i needed any help. I didnt but it was nice to know if i did i would have it. The selection was a lot better than most places down here in the valley. And the prices were ver resonable. The had to offer Arrogant Bastard. Rogue products. Dogfish Head was also available. I was very please with this esablishment and the prices were resoanable. If you happen to be in Mcallen i recommend this place.

This store had 2 year old beer in it. I told them and they said it was the brewer's responsibility. They had an alright selection, but it was far better for liquor than beer. The staff was helpful, but not knowledgable. They said if I wanted a good beer that I could get budweiser. I wanted a keg of sierra nevada and it was expensive so they suggested budweiser was a good alternative, and that it was a good "pale ale". I was thinking, "are you serious?" They don't know anything about what they sell, but they are very willing to help.
I don't trust the beer there. I found a lot that was YEARS past date. I would never buy beer there.

This place is a beer wasteland. The only cool things are the occasional $5 six packs of outdated Samuel Adams, New Belgium & Sierra Nevada beers that still taste decent. Another plus are singles of some Unibroue beers whenever I'm in the mood.
Nobody will help you when it comes to describing the craft beers they have on stock. They are here to move liquor, wines and macro beers by the truckload.
I haven't seen a new beer here in a year. The new location on 10th & Dove is not much better either.

Quality: I walked in this place, found the beer corner (really a side hallway with lots of wall shelves and 6-8 door coolers) beside the large cigar room. At first I was elated and thought I had hit the jackpot. Then I started really looking. Unibroue 10 on the shelves. What 10? Wasn't that out 2-3 years ago? Oh, a Belgian Brown I've never seen before. Best before date of 11-04-02? Hmmm....I don't know about this Brown and whether it will hold up. Then I started seeing a trend. Twelve pack of Fat tire 9 months past best before date. Some stuff was fresh, others had no date, must stuff was at least a year past it's Best Before date. So it's really buyer beware. Lighting was light and they have some good stuff, but the dust and the dates had me concerned. I left without a purchase.
Service: Not good, one of the ladies that looked to either be management or an owner walked past me four times while I was looking at everything without saying a word. Not even an excuse me walking past me in a not too roomy beer aisle. Nobody asked if I need help. Other than the women that walked past me, I'm not sure they noticed I was there.
Overall a very disappointing trip that I had gotten excited about.
