I was not impressed with this place when I was in McAllen. I went to this store twice and was very asked if I needed help or even acted like they cared. They have a small secection of beer that they sell as singles. They did not have any unusual beers, I only saw one beer I could not find at other stores. While looking at the beers on the shelf, many of the bottle, both singles and six packs had dust on the bottles. I was so unimpressed that I did not buy any beer from them. I would not go back if in the area.

Update as of Oct 11 09 .... one of the workers here told me they are discontinuing the beer they sell soon. Makes sense since the prices were high, they didn't allow singles to be purchased, and maybe had 1 or 2 beers that Feldman's didn't.

Update 6/11 ... Don't even bother going here if you want to buy anything interesting. A bright spot is that they might have decent beer for sale or on tap in the restaurant part of the store. This place is dead as far as higher end craft beer is concerned.

Quality: Very good. Stored in a dark room with a lot of wine. Cool temperatures and even some descriptions on a few of the bottles. All the dates where within their range, but I only checked a few. Prices where a little higher than H-E-B, but this place is a specialty food store and the prices wheren't that much different, but if you made a big purchase it would add up. Their entire selection was either craft beer or imports. However, they did have some macro Imports, but not many.

Service: I only had one person walk by me, but they didn't ask if I needed help. Their were just a few people working and they were slightly busy. I don't think they take credit cards, which would be a negative for me, but I'm not sure.

Selection: Good variety, different sizes. Would be nice if you could break-up sixpacks, but not a big deal. The selection won't blow you away, but for this area it is a haven and would be a good selection in most parts of the country.

There is also an attached European style cafe where they have a choice of alot of single bottles. Looked like a great place to grab a sandwich and a beer.
