Methinks they have relocated to the front side of the shopping center (the Sheridan side) but it's not like it's even down the block.
This caters to the keg and macro crowd as well so there's a fair amount of product on the floor, but includes a pretty decent selection of craft. Not quite as vast as Premier but fills in some holes there. About 15-20 taps for growler fills...growler fills of Le Freak in Buffalo?! Awesome. Saw some bottles on the floor way close or past date (Great Lakes...seems to be prevalent here). What really pissed me off about the service is I bought 3 bombers of Krampus and the woman at checkout slammed them into a plastic bag with no dividers or individual paper bags as added protection. That really burned my ass. Still, there's solid selection of very good stuff there. Almost always hit the place up when in town.

This place is the closest to where I live so I typically head over there when I'm in a good beer mood. The selection is decent, they're probably as good as it gets in this region. The growler section gets some nice stuff which is exciting. They have a lot of clear growlers though so watch out.
Prices are pretty reasonable, some cheaper, some more expensive than the nearby Wegmans. It really depends on the brand. I will say the higher priced goodies seem a little more marked up, but within reason as long as they don't stick you with a passed due one.
Their selection is okay, but it's not exactly their fault, a lot of the good beer distributed to New York doesn't make it to Western NY. Well to elaborate they get a ton of really really good stuff, but a few things don't make it that I'm used to seeing at home (e.g. Founders)
I have gotten NUMEROUS beers that were well past their freshness dates. Seriously watch out for the dates, I constantly forget, I'm afraid to buy IPAs at this place unless I know they're a new arrival, I won't touch a year round IPA at this place.
The atmosphere of this place is okay, feels like a lot of wasted space, it's not dirty, but not clean either.
The worst part of this place is the service, let me say how horrible this service is. It's seriously horrible, the employees have more fun chit chatting amongst themselves than cashing you out, and when they look like they've noticed you had enough waiting they will begrudgingly walk over. They will say the hello, how's it going, are you looking for anything etc but usually in a very half-hearted tone; there recommendations seem to just be their advertisements. If you see a lets call him "Carl" working there just turn around as an FYI.
I guess they can get away with this since they're the big player in Buffalo. I move away from this cloud haven in October, I'll look forward to that I guess.

Pretty good place; it's my go to beer store, then usually the Consumers on Transit, Wegmans, Village Beer Merchant, then Premier.
The atmosphere is alright; can't complain. Quality is good, place is clean, selection is pretty damn good. Cheapest of all the places in buffalo, but often the service is between decent and crap. Far too many times, I left the place pissed off due to someone giving me crap for buying a lot of beer, or no one being at the register which results in my standing around thumbing my hole getting more frustrated.

Love this Consumer's, so close to North campus and my grocery-run (to either Wegmans or Tops on Maple). The staff (not the entire staff) are well versed in their product and willing to talk to you about their experiences with beers. I have called numerous times to this store and asked if they had beers in stock, always providing me with adequate service to answer questions about pricing or availability.
Their prices are slightly higher for bottles, growler fills are typically a hit or miss as well. However, their growler selection is tremendous and always updating (unlike their website!). Their selection of beers, especially DFH and Stone, are near completion and new releases are provided long before anticipation and always in generous quantity if you have any hesitation about buying on the spot. Actual 64oz glass growlers remain the cheapest at this store (some under $3 and one I got for free with a fill). Also, take advantage of their growler club for $10 off after $120 in fills.
I would be lost without this Buffalo-area staple. I enjoy browsing their comprehensive beer selection and continually maintaining a diverse palate. I never feel pressured to buy anything, but will receive positive reinforcement if my selection is worth trying.
Thank you for being open until 9-930pm and thank you for excellent selection and service.
