Medium to dark amber in color with a high degree of clarity and an off-white head. Perhaps a shade light for the style, but in the ballpark. Sweet and malty on the nose with a hint of candied walnuts, poached pears and cherry skin. Not too assertive. This beer throws some alcohol heat as it warms, too. Full bodied and somewhat creamy on the palate, Antares has brewed a Barleywine that brings the bitter in a big way. Throughout the sip its herbal, earthy and borderline harsh bitterness dominates, drowning out the malt character and lingering into the semi-dry finish. The intent is there overall, but the result is a little rough around the edges.

500 ml bottle, no date. I picked up during a trip to Argentina a few weeks ago.

Clear dark copper in color, thin cream colored head. Caramel malt and piney earthy hops. Similar taste, fairly bitter, not much booziness for a 10% abv. Medium bodied, sticky mouthfeel. Right on style for an American style barleywine.

Light copper color with a thick head with eternal retention and leaving laces.
Fruity and caramely aroma, a bit light for the style though.
Hoppy flavor with notes of red fruits, grass, spice tobacco, caramels, cinnamon, husk, green apples and pears. Quite dry and bitter aftertaste. It feels bitter than its 50 IBUs.
Medium towards full body with relatively good carbonation. It is really hard to believe that it has a 10% abv.
Not that I care, but this is somewhat different from style or very unique, being hoppier and easier to drink. Let's say it is inspire on Barley Wines, though it has their alcohol punch which is superbly hidden, but it is also bold on hops, therefore sure getting closer to US counterparties. You know what? I like it.

It's a nice Barley Wine. Very malty and whith fresh and persistent sweet and fruity aroma, light body and not heavy foam. In mouth it is very strong, you can really note a high IBU (50) the end leaves a caramel flavor.
i drunk it with a delicious plate of spaghetti and swits perfect!

A - Nice copper colored with a deep turbidity, its foam is consistent leaving good laces.

S - Hoppy and fruity smell ,very nice bouquet.

T - Strong flavored, bitterness overpowers maltiness but is a very smooth beer taste, it shows its alcohol at the end of the sip(10 %).

M - Very good body, it has a nice mouth feel, vey smooth.I think carbonation is in the right place raising a strong and nice beer taste.

O - Excellent, a very enjoyable beer
