Stopped in for their Hopfest and hadn't been in quite a while. Previous experiences hadn't been terribly impressive but I found a good time that night.

Service as of 5pm was good if a little brisk. Our waitress gave us far too long before taking a beer order and then refused to bring three of us more than 3 schooners at a time--how were we supposed to try the 25+ new beers? She said something about how strong the beers were; meh. Eventually she relented and surprised us with another round. Kudos to her.

Food was prompt and very tasty. Halibut was cooked and breaded excellently and the cajun turkey was a spicy revelation, the perfect match for a nice bunch of hops.

We ended up shifting to a table outside where the waitress was very courteous and attentive, serving us schooner after schooner until well after 1. Nobody seemed to mind us ripping hops off their decorative bines to add to some of the less exciting beers and everyone accomodated the spirit of the fest.

Prices were reasonable and our tab was not outlandish for finishing a taste of every new beer. Generally, however, I have found them moderate to high.

In short, Hopfest was a great time. Easily the best experience I've had at Brouwer's. Prior experiences have found the majority of people working a branch of the meat-market centered on a few blocks in Fremont along with less than knowledgable and far from friendly service. Scores reflect this.

I'll definitely pop in now and again to find new beers and I'll definitely hit Hopfest next year. But that's about it. Give me Beveridge any day. (1,587 characters)

Stopped in here while in Seattle and was blown away by the list of beers. The cellar list is incredible, with amazing stuff from Firestone Walker, Fremont, Hair of the Dog, and many many others. Vintage Cantillon as well. Prices were on the higher side for bottles, but that's also what keeps them around for someone like me to drop in and splurge on something I won't see at home. Food was solid, service was excellent. Up there among the best places I've ever been for beer. (476 characters)

Excellent beer selection, but the space can feel dark and loud. More windows and quieter music might help. (107 characters)

I went to Brouwers today, finally. I feel it is ridiculous that as a Seattle-area citizen I had not been there before.

Atmosphere here is fantastic, a beer lover's dream. It's basement-dark inside with all dark wood installations, and the whole back wall behind the main bar is refrigerator cases full of their amazing bottle selection. Sixty beautiful taps line up to fulfill your every desire; I could probably just hang out inside and look at the place as an end in its own.

I had an Avec les Bons Voeux on draft in an Avec les Bons Voeux glass, and a Snipes Mountain saison in an appropriate saison glass (you don't see those around too much). Service was excellent, as the bartenders there seem to really know their beer. Beer selection focuses on Belgium and Washington State, but there are a few other craft beers on tap, mostly from the western U.S.

I had the croque monsieur with frites and was not disappointed. I will definitely be returning here to sample more of their extensive tap list and try some Belgian stew. (1,036 characters)
