Visited July 6th of 2012.

A basement shop, with not a lot of atmosphere. About a 8 minute walk from the main train station. Clean but just a bunch of fridges lining the walls. Beers are pricey, but they have probably around 60 or so different bottles. IPAs are around 35-40 kroner, and the Danish porter fridge, they started around 75 kroner. They have mostly Danish and Belgian beers. Fridges are sorted by style. The workers there were nice and you can even drink beers there at an additional fee. (500 characters)

Loved this place, a must stop if in Copenhagen. Owner is very nice and personable. Was there for the Blabaer release which was crazy. Usually every year after the release it is available in house for at least a few weeks. Small selection when compared to US craftbeer stores but still probably the best around that area. (323 characters)

I Stopped here a few times while in Copenhagen on business. Morten was very friendly and helpful, great advice on local beers and local bars.

You can drink on site, I chose to order a Blabaer because why not? I was lucky it was that time of year.

Lots of great Danish beers, also some choice Belgian and USA stuff. Good IPAs if you're in town from the USA and feeling homesick. Everything was in coolers too.

Two thumbs up! (430 characters)

rolled in on a Thursday at 1:30 as Morten was getting set up a dealing with a shipment. Despite that he was helpful and took some time to chat. Friendly vide, lots of good Mikkeller, To Olt adn what you'd expect. Had some Cantillion there I grabbed a bottle of Rose De G and must agree with Morten - "It's the best pink beer there is". Just up the street from Mikkeller. (370 characters)

Let me start by saying I'm not generally a review type of person but my experience leaves me compelled.

I had a beyond great vacation in many aspects and my 2 visits here were highlights of the trip. My girlfriend and I came by on a Thursday evening only to find them closed, this turned out to be a good thing. We made our way over the following day, of course this time in the rain, but still very enthusiastic. I browsed the selection and was thrilled to find Blabaer bottles for on-site consumption tucked away in the cooler. I grabbed one and proceeded to the register. Morten, with a smile nearly as big as my own, took the bottle, grabbed us a couple glasses and popped the cork. After sharing the bottle with him and his friend John, more of his friends began to wander in. Little did I know that Friday typically involves him and his friends sharing beer, whiskey, snacks, suggestions, and stories. This turned into a fantastic night! Morten, John, Andrew, and Michael (sorry for butchered Americanized spellings!) and the rest of the gang were all awesome!

We came back a few nights later and shared more beer and snacks, chatted like old friends, and had a generally great time. Morten's friend Michael (again, sorry if the spelling is wrong) was nice enough to take my girlfriend and I out for a couple of beers at another local spot.

5 stars across the board. Selection, pricing (Copenhagen is expensive in general, but his prices were better than others we visited), service and everything else. Normally, when I travel to Europe I don't hit the same city twice, for the sake of variety and experience but I'm already looking forward to my next visit to Copenhagen and visiting with these great people.

This is a really good beer store, and on top of that it's a place where you can actually consume what you want to buy on the premises.

Selection here is really solid, with a surprising amount of varied American craft beers if that's what you want to get your fix. Highlights also include Cantillon from Belgium as well.

Like most things in the country, the place is not cheap, but nothing horribly outrageous either. But it was without question the most diverse and best selection I ever saw. The guy who runs the place is also really nice and talkative. If you want some special beer and that's what you love it's a must stop (632 characters)

What a great place! Had Facebooked Morten earlier from States, and was informed to expect fun and sharing a few beers. Well...all that and more. Started by meeting/greeting with Morten and my wife; then with others visiting/drinking in the store that afternoon. Bought a bottle of Blabaer out of the cooler and shared with everyone in store. On Site only drinking since it wasn't release day. But this broke the ice. Soon all of us (including Morten) were picking and sharing beers. Just an amazing time surrounded by coolers full of amazing beers. It was a wonderful combination of top notch beer store and very nice place to sit and talk with other beer fans from around the world. Maybe it was the lazy Saturday afternoon, but it was just a special stop with people who shared a passion for top quality beer. Can't say enough good things about Morten. We spoke and shared beer like old friends...despite his having had his eye scratched the night before by his baby. Just a great guy. And also a great guide to finding special beers. Left with a bag of great beers and even better memories. This is a must stop. (1,116 characters)

The new owner Morten was a truly stand up guy who takes the time to speak with each customer and get to know them, he really seems to have an undying passion for beer, and is definitely taking this store in the right direction. Would never come to copenhagen without visiting this guy!! (286 characters)

As I come from the south of Sweden I always make sure to visit Copenhagen and Ölbutikken when I visit my parents.
I take the ferry to Helsingör and then the train to Copenhagen. It´s just a short walk from the central station.

The atmosphere and esthetics are very clean. But what grips me is the selection!
This is by no comparison number one for beer in Scandinavia!
Good selection of all Danish breweries but also a great selecion in american and central european beers!
And prices are really reasonable in Scandinavian standards, some what cheaper than the Swedish systembolaget.

A must visit if you´re in Copenhagen! (627 characters)

Note: I visited Olbutikken only a couple weeks after the Copenhagen Beer Festival and their selection was basically cleared out. I envision that they'd have a much broader selection any other time of the year.

I walked past the store and missed it on our first pass, so be aware as you look for this small place. Clean, simple, and a little table to have a couple beers while shopping (if you want to pay the drink-in price). The employee poured me a sample saison from a pin, which was great as we walked around.

There is not a bad beer in the place, and I'd guess that virtually every beer on the shelves is at least an A- on BA. You can even get some solid American brews that are tough to get in the U.S. (FFF, Maine, etc.).

Now, as I said, after Copenhagen beer festival, the shelves were pretty sparse, so that's my only complaint. There were great beers, but not anything truly epic/rare. I missed blabaer by about 4 days, sadly, but I still managed to fill up my backpack with some great Mikkeller bres and others.

Prices were fantastic for Scandinavia, and even solid compared to the U.S. (example: Fou Foune was like $17). Definitely a must-visit. (1,163 characters)

My first ever visit to Copenhagen and having checked into my hotel the very first place I had to find was Ølbutikkem in Oehlenschlægersgade off of Vestebrogade.

This is an amazing beer store, friendly, very helpful and with an immaculately shelved selection of many of the greatest beers from all over the world. Very easy to browse as so tidy!

It is also the only place in the world where you will be able to buy Cantillon's Blåbær (when released) and therefore, this time around my return flight luggage space was reserved for the bottles that Jeppe had kindly put aside for me. Although I still found room for a pristine bottle of Alesmith Speedway Stout to keep the Blåbær company on the flight home.

I hope to retrun to Ølbitikken as often as possible as there were so many other gems I would like to buy in the future. Copenhagen itself is also a wonderful city with Nyhavn, Tivoli, The Mikkeller Bar in Viktoriagade, the Rundetaarn & Kastellet
being my other highlights... along with the canal tours!

A great weekend! Thanks Jeppe and thanks Copenhagen! (1,071 characters)

I've heard about this place because of Blabaer of course but there is much more going on here and a must stop by. It has very weird hours so make sure you check the website before just dropping by as it is a little far away from the train station and nice parts of town...We showed up a little early but they were already open which was nice and allowed me to spend some time talking to Jeppe, the owner and twin brother of Mikel from Mikkeller. Jeppe is a very nice and knowledge guy, helped me pick out many beers that no way I would have picked up...Of course my reason for going was to get blabaer as the website said they were stocked, sadly when I got there they have sold out the last day they were open. Hugely disappointing of course, but Jeppe did hook me up with one bottle from the back so I was very grateful...As far as the beer goes its a very nice selection, tons of mikkeller and belgians (westy, rare de dolles), a few cantillons but not as rare as I was hoping. Tons of american brews and not easy ones to get. If your an American no need to check those out but if you don't have access, there are ones worth getting. The price I thought was very fair.

Overall, a great place to go even if Blabaer isn't there, but maybe sometime in 2011 you plan a special trip to get the blabaer as that is the next time it will be out. (1,341 characters)
