Made with 84 pounds of raspberry puree.
A-Deep,dark black/brown with deep garnet highlights. A thick, meringue like head slowly reduced to a thin cap and left heavy lace.
S-A boatload of fresh raspberries, almost hitting medicinal levels. Notes of roasted malt, sweetness and chocolate come through in the background.
T-Much like the aroma with a crazy amount of raspberry up front. So much so at first that this borders on cough syrup level. Thankfully, with warming this medicinal quality fades and is replaced by a pleasant combination of fruit, roasted malt and milk chocolate.
M-Medium bodied and ridiculously smooth. Raspberry twang and chocolate bitterness flavours are long lasting.
D-Whew...almost thought this one was a rare Terry mistake, but no! At first the raspberry quality was too much but with warming the fruit flavours melded nicely with the chocolate and became decadent! Well done, as usual!

On tap at Bullfrog - December 11, 2010.
Pours quite dark with a fairly-nice light tan head and a touch of lacing on the glass. The nose starts out with an overpowering amount of raspberries. Once I am used to that, I get some nice chocolate and roast characteristics. Everything doesn't quite meld in the end, though it's not nearly as unbalanced as the first whiff.
The taste js nice with chocolate and raspberry flavors coming together nicely along with a faint bit of roast in the background. The feel is nice and creamy, just as it should be. Drinks quite well. Flavorful and a nice dessert beer.

This brew poured out as a nice looking deep brownish black color. The head was thick and tan at first. As it settles the lacing coats the glass pretty well. The smell of the beer was fruity, sweet and roasted. The taste was sweet upfront with lots of raspberry flavors raging throughout, then in the aftertaste the creaminess of the chocolate forms a silky smooth feeling. Overall this beer was really quite nice, but should probably be served with or as a dessert.
