Draft offering at the source. The brew appears a clear dark brown color with ruby clarity seen through the body when held to the light. A light tan head sits across the top and fades leaving patchy lace sticking to the glass.
The nose on this is quite beefy with roast and a liquid smoke aspect. There is a mild note of chocolate grain and a kiss of earth to mineral aspect.
The flavor is quite phenolic with lots of smoke flavor similar to pete smoked grain. Roasty chocolate gives way to a warming amount of citrus and earthy to almost fruity pepper inclusion. A bit of minerals and mild fruity alcohol persists into the aftertaste.
This is a medium bodied brew with a smooth and creamy feel. It is an interesting, spicy and smoked offering that I enjoyed. After the fact learning about the name/ingredients I am glad I went into it blindly else I might have avoided it.

Enjoyed on tap at the brewpub. A skillful addition by subtraction of the ghost peppers, that kicks in with cherry, at the finish. Very dark brown and lacey. Smoke and chocolate in the aroma. A solid porter, smoked, with the ghost taste. Fuller mouthfeel and surprisingly smooth.
