Poured from a tap at TJs in Paoli PA into a tulip stem glass.

A: A hazy medium golden color with a one finger white head.

S: Funky tart fruits couple with some sweet notes and yeasty grassy hay smells.

T: Funk mixes with the fruit flavors of lemon, pear, apple skin, peach and some tangerine. A nice yeasty flavor mixes with some slight sweetness only to be overcome by the nice tart finish.
Finish is bone dry with some floral hop flavors. Very nice wild ale.

M: Medium, dry, tart with no alcohol.

O: A very nice sour beer that I would drink regularly if I could find it. Not quite world class, but still very very good. I really enjoyed it.

Obviously a rare beer that I was extremely happy to try. If you get a chance and like sours, give this one a go. Very good beer.

- Blend 50% blonde barrel aged sour (wild) ale & fresh blonde. Keg conditioned (naturally fermented and carbonated) with belgian candi sugar. 7%. Served in a goblet.

A: Dense lemon, lightly cloudy with hints of orange. A scattered weakly forming head provides low coverage atop as well weak legs.

S: Aroma was sweet peach, pear, sweet malt, orange with a fruity hint of apricot. Nice level of intensity, complexity, and alcohol dryness arrives.

T: Flavor had a nice light touch of alcohol sourness, peach and apricot, fruity sweetness with a dry finish. There is a warming glow of fruity-orange alcohol, small peeks of the sweet malt and candi sugars and pilsner malt.

M: Mouthful was creamy medium-full body, light natural carbonation, nice weight on the tongue.

O: Overall nice touch of warming fruit and dry gin alcohol. Dry pilsner-like malt, good accents. The fresh blonde was more notable then the sour aspect here with dry alcohol tones. Drinks like a strong golden ale

2-liter growler into a standard pint glass. The brew appears a hazed golden color with a fine white cap. The head fades relatively quickly producing spotty strings of lace. A swirl revives some bubbles back to the surface that form a half finger that again is quick to fade.

The aromatics are wild almost lemony lactic before getting more sour smelling and acedic with the faintest inclusion of mild phenols that are bordering more plastic than anything. At times I want to stretch and say thay I feel an herbal hop element across the nose but the wild nature of this brew mostly covers that up.

The taste is quite tart with a lemony flavoring and acedic bite beyond what a strong greek yogurt would impart. A touch of acetone is present before blending to pear or apple skin faintly as it warms. There is a bit of bitterness towards the finish suggesting herbal hop flavoring that is a bit clashing and more bold than you might want in a wild.

This is a medium bodied brew with a modest amount of carbonation. It is an interesting offering and worth a try but not sonething I would want to drink any serious amount of. After awhile the acedic nature and bitterness clashed for me and hidered the overall drinkability.

Draft at the brewpub.

Pours a slightly hazy, pale golden yellow color with a half finger white head that immediately settles. Not much in the way of lacing. Not bad looking but somewhat pedestrian.

Musty, funky aroma with pale malt, light fruit esters and a subtle barrel character. Nice toasted oak presence along with funky bugs, musty brett, biscuit malt, apple and pear. Funk/wild yeast is well integrated and doesn't overpower the other notes.

Slightly tart and puckering with acetic sourness and citric acidity along wih subtle lactic cheesiness and musty funk. Decent Brett character with some tart sounressnes up front countered mid-palate by pale malt, biscuit and light fruit flavors. Sourness is more prominent than the nose suggests and remains pretty strong throughout.
