My friends and I visited Mugs after uninspiring look at the Brooklyn Brewery last night as I was hungry for something real. The place looked very spacious with a tall ceiling, a neatly arranged bar, and a nice mix of craft beer on tap. There were booths in the front on the right as we entered the place and another dining room in the back of the place.
After we sat down for an early dinner of burgers and fries, we scanned the extensive beer and scotch menu. The beers were clearly layed out with notes and the Scotch selection was in alphabetical order. I really appreciated the tap selection as we had the Chelsea Dry Stout and the Troubador Dubbel in the appropriate glassware.
While the beers selection was outstanding, I have to say the Scotch selection was on par with it, as I like both very much.
I had a good sense of the place after an hour or two and I could be happy hanging out there all night in good company.

Great, pretense free neighborhood bar with an ever changing draft list of quality bees and pretty awesome wings. Dark wood and dimly lit like any good bar should be. The pricing is certainly reasonable, especially when compared to some of the other places in Williamsburg.
The bartenders are all friendly and knowledgable. John rules.
