Ultra clear yellow colored beer with a momentary white head.

Despite the clear bottle, no skunk here. This is sweet and malty with a bit of cooked vegetable scent to it. A little lemon hop scent and a bigger corn scent.

Taste starts out neutral with a little bit of seltzer water flavor. Corn and a lemon hop flavor not very bitter or highly hopped.

Mouthfeel is OK.

What can you say about this one, pretty much just beer. Better than Corona I suppose.

Got it at a supermarket that is expanding in the country. The beer was quite sweet but nasty in quality. It is a heavy beer for people who likes cold beer. It has a somewhat dark golden colour. NIce foam and malty in taste. I bought a six pack, and now it's not for sell anymore in that shop.

The beer gushes forth from the clear bottle a crystalline gold, the head small and frothy, fades fast, leaving a patchy bit of lace. Nose is sweet malt, nothing else; start is sweet malt, some bitter bite at the back, skinny top. Finish has a fair acidity, light hop presence, still sweet at the dry aftertaste, not much else to say, well I can say its better than Corona.

A beer bought in a supermarket "soriana", a friend of mine tell me about this beer, and i go "hecho madre" to acquire this beer; is a classic in the "mexican - south the border scene" this "pilsner spirit" was created for fight versus the prohibition and do well the things; it comes with a vintage style bottle; bad printed but good;

i try this with a"tortas ahogadas" a mexican specialty food from jalisco and is good, but i got a bad idea from take the tlaquepaque salsa and this beer-if you can try, you can uderstand what i talk- whatever;

I recommend a 80%.

A very old Mexican beer I never had the chance to try before. Found three 6-packs in a local supermarket and couldn't resist buying it. Hope I did. ;-)

Pours a light yellow fizzy brew, with a very small and short living head, that leaves no lacing at all.

Smell is somehow malty, with a very noticeable adjuncts backbone.

Taste is only of adjuncts, somehow the malty nose doesn't make it to your palate.

Mouthfeel if crisp, with some bitterness at the finish.

Drinkability is actually high in a Mexican Summer afternoon, but I guess I won't buy it again.

¡Salud!

12 oz clear bottle with a twist cap.
Born on date stamped on the neck ala Bud.

Pretty nondescript aroma. A little malty a little corn.

Flavor is slightly sweet with a mild bitter bite.

It was not as bad as I thought it would be. Drinkable lawnmower beer.

Out of a 12oz silkscreend clear glass bottle. The pour looks like water as it fills the glass , a faint straw colored liquid with an inch of pure white head. No carbonation bubbles whatsoever, the head diminishes leaving a mear trace of lacing.

First wiff is a bit skunk like, another sniff or two reveals a not very pleasant urine odor. I don't mean to be rude or bash this brew...I just call em as I see em, so to speak. I'm truly hesitant to even taste it, just doesn't smell right.

OK, after two spicy pieces of pepperoni pizza, here goes nuthin...umm...yuk! As a light flavor of a Dunkel appears, it's followed by a nice aftertaste of piss. I'm quite serious. In my 48yrs. on this planet, I can't remember ever NOT being able to finish ANY beer. After two tastes of this stuff, it's going down the drain. I've had Mexicali before(years ago) and I don't remember it like this. Truly sorry...end of review

I'm reaching for a Bigfoot to get this horrible taste out of my mouth!!!

The Mexicali pours the color of corn with a little head. There is a faint malt character in the nose. It is still very light, but is refreshing very cold and has little more malt character than the many Latin American light lagers that are flooding the market. At worst: not much character. At best: Inoffensive and thirst quenching in the heat.

Malty Corona- Need I say more? I think there is very little difference between this and Corona. Corona tastes flat, skunky, and watery. In other words, it is poorly made. If there was no other beer at a party but this, I would be the designated driver.

A: The beer is clear light yellow in color and has a moderate amount of carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that quickly died down, leaving a thin patch of bubbles on the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of adjunct malts are present in the nose—corn seems to stand out in particular—along with some hints of grassy hops.
T: Much like the smell, the taste has flavors of corn adjuncts along with a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels light-bodied and a little clean on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer seems a little maltier compared to the other Mexican Adjunct Lagers that I had. It could pair well with some food prepared in corn tortillas if you are looking to stay purely Mexican.

Interesting appearance for a mexican macro. Looked almost red in the bottle, cola brown and clear in the glass. Head and lacing are presentable as well. Ordor is interesting as well. Hint of roasted malt, along with the usual assortment of grainy, musty malt and adjuncts found in macros. Taste is well...surprising good, albeit slips a bit as the beer warms. Some decent, almost rich roasted maltiness, with a nice balance of hop lingering in the background. Certainly some mineral water used in the brewing process. Much fuller bodied than any mexican brew I've had yet.

Looking at the picture on the site, my bottle had a label on the neck stating 'special imported dark beer' so maybe it's more like a vienna lager than a magro. Would put the one I sampled on par if not better than Negra Modelo
