Dropped in on 2010-05-29 for the "Elder and Friends" event. It was my first time here and I enjoyed it quite a bit.

I started off with a Pliny the Elder draft, which was superb of course. I also had a sampler that included Rusian River Damnation, Founders Double TRouble, Bear Republic Apex and Jolly Pumpkin Bam Biere. There were another dozen or so great brews on tap to pick from. Pretty remarkable.

Our waitress, Irene, was super-attentive and fun. She introduced us to Matt who we ended up chatting with a bit over the course of our visit. He gave us and other patrons some taste tests for rare beers from bottles that he was opening for this purpose. I felt welcomed.

We ordered a burger and fries. The burger was good quality meet and was char-grilled. Good burgers here.

After we finished our meal and tastings, we went to the bottle shop where another large selection awaited us. Among other things I left with a few bottles of Russian River Consecration, Hair of the Dog Fred, and a rare Rodenbach Grand Cru.

It's quite a drive for me to get here but you better believe, I'll be going back.

While I've not been to one of the Special Events/Release Tastings Capone's organizes I have stopped here a few times for the beer shop. This review is pretty much to echo what most other reviewers have said. This is one of the places outside of Philly to visit when looking for a "few good bottles." The selection is large. Freshness is usually good. Service is helpful and knowledgable. Value is reasonable given they are located in PA.
