Edition 2007, Served at ~60 degrees in a snifter.
Pours an absolutely beautiful dark, rich, mohagany color with an equally beautiful beige head that resides rather quickly...due to the high alcohol. The first smell i get is sour apples, followed by dark fruits, and of course malt. There is some spiciness to it as well. The taste is rich and complex. Dark, sour and tart fruits come first. Oak and wood follow and remain throughout the rest of the sip, and again, the same spices. A very noticable alcohol burn warms the stomach.
The entire package makes for a unique experience, one which I cannot wait to experience again.
North Coast has charged its way into my top five breweries.
