Poured from a bottle into a pint glass.
Look - medium to dark brown color, clear, with good carbonation and about half a finger's worth of khaki-colored foam that dissipates somewhat quickly.
Smell - more on the malty side, but with a fruity, currant-like essence.
Taste - definitely malty in character, but with a tinge of bitterness that hits toward the middle of the taste on the back of the palate. The currant-like quality still seems to be present.
Mouthfeel - pretty well balanced, not leaning more toward the watery or creamy sides.
Overall - very interesting brew to sample! And good-tasting as well.
