2003 edition in a squat amber bottle. Not that it matters, but there is no freshness dating.
Appearance: An aggressive pour yielded a deep, rust-colored clear body with a thick off-white colored head that quickly died down to a thin layer at the edges. Minimal sticky lacing of the glass.
Smell: Ripened dark fruits, brown sugar, medicinal alcohol.
Taste: Quite tasty. Rum-soaked raisins up front, followed by caramelized brown sugar, ending with a "paper"-like flavor that is quickly overtaken by a sweet whiskey taste.
Mouthfeel and Drinkability: Very smooth with a well-hidden ABV. Only a slight warming effect noted. Nothing too harsh or overbearing. Well-balanced and it got better as it approached room temperature. Damn nice.
