Pours hazed dark brown with an off-white head that thins and stays around. Good head retention for style and abv level.
The smell is rum-like - boozy with prunes and raisins. Some woody earthiness comes through.
The taste is of caramel and booze. Some muted prune-like fruitiness is there as well as woody/earthy notes. Sweet alcohol dominates.
The feel is almost syrupy. Raw and a bit sticky.
Interesting - very hot (which was expected). A slow-sipper to be sure. Maybe this would be better after having mellowed with age, though not bad as it is.
