FYI, this beer was bought 11 months prior to consumption.
Pours an opaque, medium brown color that lets light in only at the edges, i.e., barely.
Smell is malt, of course, alcohol soaked wood, some light fruits (pear, grape), rum. Decently balanced.
Taste is better with malt, rum, charred wood, light fruits and light brown sugar notes contribute some sweetness. Well balanced, quite complex.
Medium bodied. Effervescence is bold at start but subsides quickly. Warming from the first inhalation. A hint of drying finishes it off. Smooth except for the initial effervescence burst.
