Named for the delicate engravings popularized by 19th century seafarers, Scrimshaw is a fresh tasting Pilsner brewed in the finest European tradition using Munich malt and Hallertauer and Tettnang hops. Scrimshaw has a subtle hop character, a crisp, clean palate, and a dry finish.

Yellow golden color with a decent head and a hazy, steady lace.
aroma of fruit, hops, malts and apples; some citrus.
Taste was sweet, fruits and grains.
The feel was high carbonation done well with a dry finish.
Mild bitter taste known in this style was pleasant and the beer had a really good balance.

I really like this beer. Nice golden color and a slight hop bite. Very drinkable for a session. North Coast is a top brewery.

Decent pilsner. Poured from a 12 oz stubby bottle into a flute glass, this beer featured a clear golden color. a medium sized foamy white head with good retention and some filmy bands of lacing on the glass. Aroma was a bit floral and the taste included some mild, grassy hops and sweet malt. Mouthfeel was light but not watery. mildly bitter and very crisp and smooth. A good candidate to wash down a light dinner or as a session beer.

Gold in color with a quarter inch of dishwater white on top. The aroma is of crackery malt and sourdough bread. I’m tasting light, crackery malt. The mouth is light and crisp.

From a bottle. Clear golden color with a generous amount of white fluffy head. Grassy hop aroma. Light body. Sweet malty flavor with a lemon note and a grassy hop finish. Everything I've had from North Coast has been good, and this is no exception.

This is a very good beer. However I don't normally drink beers which are 4.5% alcohol. If I did drink beers which were 4.5% alcohol this is the one I would drink. It has enough flavor to be enjoyable and actually isn't as "watery" as I thought it would be. It is definitely sessionable.
Others are saying that they taste lemon. I do not taste lemon, thankfully as I don't like that flavor in my beer. Actually, wait, I do taste lemon ever so faintly at the end. It's worth buying again.

Pours clear light golden color, not much head.
Aromas are floral, lemony, very gentle feeling.
For a pilsner, this is a really high quality beer, possibly one of the best pilsners I've had. This one is smooth in the mouth and clean and dry. It tastes almost like lemon, or possibly like a crisp apple with light lemon like flavors. Extremely pleasant and should work for those looking for a lighter beer.

Bread and malt, with some lemon and a bit of floral hops, dry and crisp, makes for a decent beer.
