Poured from a neat bottle with an ingraving of whales on a big whale tooth (I read on the website that this art of engraving on tooth or bone is called scrimshaw, and that's where the beer gets it's name) over an attractive shade of royal blue. A firm white 1 finger head caps a yellow-gold dandelion brew with lots of tiny bubbles rising to the top. Large amounts of icy lacing coat the glass. I really like the look of this one.
This had one of the most hopped noses I've ever experienced in a pils. The aroma is citrus with flowery undertones. The malts are subdued, but I'm picking up a faint hard crusty bread smell.
Wow. That's pretty damn good! The taste is more powerful than the relitively light nose. Very grapefuity and tart. In a blind taste test, I would probably be fooled if you told me that this was a pale ale or a weakish IPA! I does however have a clean and clear malty taste that is indicitive of a pils. I'd still be fooled though.
Mouth feel is light and refreshing, but a bit thin for me. It's carbonated, but not overly tingly or bubbly. Although it is a bit on the watery side, I would not hold that against it given the style ...or the fact that it's summer. My beer was gone in less than 10 min, so I'll have to try a few more of these soon!
This is a great easy drinking pils for the hot days of summer. IMO its EXTREMELY sessionable (I could chug this baby no problem, but why waste such tasty beer?), but it's a bit on the uncomplicated side, and that makes it slightly less interesting to me. As much as I like it, it could be better if they gave it a bit more depth of character and a fuller mouthfeel.

Wow, just keep coming back to this one. Poured into a shorty. Has a lively pumpkin glow. Inviting for sure. But what really makes it special is the citrus aroma. It's outstanding with every sip (or gulp). Non of the mustyness that comes with many pills. And the taste is exceptional. Scrimshaw takes you on a nice bright flavor ride before pulling back to a clean satisfying finish. Could drink this one all the time -- wait, i do!
