I'm not a lager fan, but am a huge North Coast fan, and always a fan of the beer journey. This beer pours like a great beer should - straw yellow with a commanding white head. The nose is dominant with bread and yeast, reminiscent of a Polish babka, and model aromas (in my opinion) of what a great Pilsner style beer should smell like. Taste and mouthfeel are first introduced to a good carbonation, bread notes follow, and the finish ends with a slight sourness. Finish is not too lengthy. Definitely a brew to serve chilled. Clean, crisp, and dry - true to the advert on the label. I even used about a quarter cup today as the main liquid base in my hummus recipe. Hitting the spot on a Memorial Day weekend as we are starting to turn the corner into summer in Southern California.

Another one to try. Oh, I don't have a list or anything, our local distributor got some of these in and they were on the shelf. I have a fondness for Pislners generally and never pass one up. This one fits the mold, light color, firm malt base sharply accented with hops. very clean flavor that's better than the most recent German Pilsner I've had. Good effort and a good buy.

Pours a gorgeous clear crisp golden color with a two finger white head. that slowly dissipates leaving a thin whitehead across the top.

Smell is subdued but there are notes of hops, sweet malts, and straw.

Taste follows the nose with a bit of a straw flavor initially finishing with a nice mild bitterness from the hops. the flavors are a bit mild - would like a bit more depth there.

Feel is crisp, pretty carbonated, but very nice.

Overall a great example of an american pilsener that is true to the style - in this case German.

This is a crisp, clean, American lager, nothing special though. To me it needs more hops to be a Pilsner. Honestly it's refreshing but really only slightly better than Miller Lite and very similar. I actually think a lot of people would have a hard time telling the difference in a blind tasting and for $10 a sixer I probably wouldn't buy again.

On draught. Nice clear medium gold pour with medium to little lace; nice for a pilsner I think. Toasty malt & hop aroma that shows in the taste. Nothing fancy, good light to medium mouthfeel. A definite awesome pilsner awaiting warm day imbibing!

Look: Golden in color with a big, thick, pure white colored head atop of the beer.

Smell: Noble hops. A bit grainy.

Taste: A little bit of sweet malts in the front and some hops pulling through in the finish. A well balanced beer here.

Feel: Good, sharp carbonation. Just about what I'd like to see from a pilsener.

Good, true to style beer here. Nice quality, without all the bells and whistles.

Poured from tap into a growler, then quickly to my beer glass.

Look: Deep golden color, thin head, not too many bubbles.
Smell: Seems 50/50 on the hops and malts to me. Standard beer smell. But still good.
Taste: I am new to this so I cannot pick up anything "special" or overpowering. Tastes what a "regular" beer should taste like. Much, much better than a Bud, Coors, Miller, etc...
Feel: Light/Medium feel. Crisp. not much aftertaste. Clean.

Overall: I like it. It is a great step up from the standards of the world, but not to specific about a distinct taste. It would be a good beer for the masses if you want to start that "craft beer" journey. I'd buy it again.

I've only recently gotten into Pilsners, so I'll admit that I'm not well versed in the style, but boy is this thing delicious. About the most refreshing beer I've had (gotta throw Victory Pils in there too), while not sacrificing taste or nose.
Straw golden/yellow with a smallish white head that fades quickly. Smells hoppy and grassy with some breadiness at the end. Tastes along the same lines, crisp hops ending cleanly, biscuity malt sweetness to balance. It's got a medium-light mouthfeel, aside from the high carbonation.
Overall, it seems like some of the other reviewers on here are a bit underwhelmed, but I don't see why. Two thumbs up.

L- Clear pale yellow body, slight carbonation visible. Bubbly white head with very low retention.
S- Bready malts, yeast.
T- Bready malts, yeast and a slight hop note. Sligthly sweet with a clean crisp finish.
F- Fresh, clean.
O- This is how a pilsner should be, no bells and whistles, just fresh, easy drink.

Pours a very clear yellow/gold. Smell is faintly grassy. Light sweet malt taste. This is a light and refreshing pilsner. Very dry and crisp. Will definitely buy again.

Pours all clear and golden with 2/3" of white head on it. Smell is neutral grain.

Taste is prickly carbonation, some 2 row, maybe cascade and a noble hop. Not too assertive, light beer tasting beer as they would say.

Clear golden pour. Normal head volume, outstanding retention and lacing.

Light nose of noble hops over biscuit with a hint of lemon.

Light body that has a texture of water. Perfect carbonation with a burst of middle effervescence and rollicking finely bubbled prickly finish.

The flavor profile is quite good, but lacks the intensity and complexity to be outstanding. It begins pretty much as it ends. A light hop flavor over a light biscuit and mild bitterness. The finish is clean, dry and crisp.

Pours clear and golden, thick foam capped head. Smell is clean and malty. Taste is exactly as expected, bready pilsner. Feel is light and crisp, very refreshing. If someone asked what a pilsner was, I would hand them a Scrimshaw. Well done.

I had this on tap because I didn't want another high abv IPA and the restaurant had few tap choices. I should not have ordered it as I really don't like pilsners very much. This seemed fairly typical of the style.

Bought from Bev Mart $2.49. Poured into a pilsner glass. Light golden color, light mouthfeel, high carbonation, mild taste, overall a refreshing beer to drink.

On tap. Poured a brigh golden. Nice head. Aroma is of honey and sweeter grains. Very soft hoppiness. Flavor was a bit too sweet for me. Would enjoy more noble hop character. Honey, dough and bread. Hints of floral flavor. Lighter bodied. I wish it was drier. Not as good as I was hoping.

Along with all the ales and monster brews i always seem to have on hand I like to get a quality pilsener or lager now and again. A well made one, like this one, is one of the most refreshing drinks ever invented.

This one poured into my pilsener glass and built a nice one inch head. The color is typical yellow. Totally transparent. Nice. The aroma is faint and clean. It has a mild straw smell. Also nice.

The taste is right were it should be. It's a mild balance of malts, yeast and hops. The finish is perfectly clean and sweet. This is the refreshing drink you want a pils to be. Right down the middle. No Americanization a la trying too hard or macrobrewing. Recommended.

Got this one at a liquor store as a single bottle. Poured it into a regular pint glass.

L: This beer is darkish for a pilsner, but still pretty golden.

S: Some bread crust and a heavy vegetal scent. This beer smells....really, really weird.

T: None of the strange smell comes through. Not a lot of taste, just some slightly sweet malt and a little yeast. Very, very dry.

F: Pretty thick mouthfeel, given the style. Pleasant surprise, I hate watery beer.

Overall: Despite a weird smell, this is pretty delicious. No really obvious standout flavors, but no off flavors either. I could see myself putting a few of these back at a barbecue, and at only 4.7% ABV, I wouldn't be all too worse for wear. I just might have to pick up a sixxer of it.

The best pilsner I've ever had. I can't find any faults. It has delicious bready, cracker-like malt flavors, balanced by nice, crisp hops. I can drink these all day. Enough complexity to be interesting, but not at the expense of drinkability.

Pours a pale gold with a bit of initial haze. Clears quickly leaving good clarity. 1+ finger of dense off-white head. Minimal lacing left behind.

Aroma is mildly floral hops with an underlying spiciness. Some doughy maltiness. A bit muted all around.

Taste is similar to the aroma. Spicy notes more at the fore than the floral notes. Doughy, chewy malt. A bit of lemon and pepper.

Feel is dry and crisp. Medium body with medium carbonation.

A very fine pilsener. Easy drinking.

L: Pours pale gold with a slight haze, 1” white foam cap. S: light grain, Pils malt, and some spice
T: The palate is rich and malty with some light spice flavors.
F: Light body to a little more, above average carbonation to high. There is a sharp carbonic bite – the carbonation is a little harsh.
O: The Scrimshaw Pilsner has a clean, dry finish and I find it quite drinkable

Had had it a few times over the years and it was always solid. Was thinking it would be a good session lager but as I got a few in the grassy peppery bark of the hops started to overwhelm the palate. Still clean with a light body, pale golden color, enough breadiness to keep from being bland and watery, crisp carbonation. A great beer but looking doesn't replace expensive imports as a top notch session lager.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass

Appearance – The beer pours a medium golden amber color with tons of carbonation bubbles cascading up through the brew to produce a billowy white head of foam. The head is a little on the thicker side, fading over about a 4 min time frame and leaving a light level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.

Smell – The aroma of the beer is quite strong of caramel and toffee sweetness mixed with a little bit of a peach and apricot smell. Along with these aromas comes some nice grainy notes as well as a little bit of some grapefruit citrus hop.

Taste – The taste begins with a somewhat drier bready and cracker taste mixed with some lighter caramel flavors. The caramel fades a bit as the taste moves on but is replaced by some of the peach and apricot fruit smells that were in the nose. These fruit however later fade, again drying out the flavor a bit. With a light hop taste consisting of some earthy and herbal flavors coming at the very end, one is left with a drier and crisp flavor to linger on the tongue.

Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the thinner side with a carbonation level that is rather high. For the crisp and refreshing nature of the brew the feel is spot on and makes for an easy drinking brew.

Overall – A rather nice drinker overall that makes for a rather good summer brew.

I'm not usually a Pilsner man: I usually find them too watery and bland. This one, however, is completely the opposite. It's certainly a beer I look forward to during the summer

Pale gold/hay color with white bubbly head that fades to a thin mist. Aroma of sweet grain, some hops. Smells fresh. Tastes of cereal, little pine, little grass, little bread. Light bodied with high carbonation. Refreshing and nicely flavored.
