Poured slightly darker than I was expecting. Orange-brown, like dark honey. Not much head. Low apparent carbonation.
Nose is some bready malts and some citrus and light pine hops. Simple, but not bad.
Taste is very good. Starts of light and slightly sweet, but the body develps quickly into a real mouthfull, lots of sweet malts balanced by big bitter and barely piney hops. Finishes clean.
Mouthfeel is extremely light for the amount of flavor this thing packs. Finishes slightly dry. Very pleasing.
Overall a very nice ale. Will it replace SNPA as my everyday? No. Will I buy it again? Maybe not, but that's only because the only place that sells it is also the only place that sells Indica (and many other things). Definitely worth trying though, and you can chalk up another victory for North Coast. Seriously though, try the Old Rasputin.
