Poured a generous one finger high, off-white, creamy head. Color is copper amber and looks somewhat dense. Some spider-web lacing at the top and some creamy lace at the bottom. Had a second and poured slightly more aggressive and the lacing was much better. Really sweet smell of malts, caramel, and ripe fruits, prunes, fig and also buttery. Some resiny earthy hops and dense moist bread. Slight earthy yeast notes and light sweet syrup.
The taste is really like it smells with the earthy hops showing a bit more than can be detected in the nose. Grassy pith finish that lingers. A candy taste like old school hard ribbon candy. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel with a solid malt chewiness.

A: Pours copper or brass and very clear. Medium to full head. Fantastic retention with a fair amount of lacing throughout.

S: Herbal hops are dominated by caramel malts and vanilla spiced undertones. Faintest hint of apple can be found.

T: Interesting! Incredibly it is sweet at the beginning. Caramel is the most dominant flavor. There is some toast in the middle followed by a supurbly clean finish. Hops present but very mellow.

M: Medium to light bodied. Carbonation is less than expected and takes away from my enjoyment some. I think it would improve the lighter notes in the taste more if the carbonation was higher... but that is a personal thing.

O: I always find myself trying to pair light yet flavorful beers with foods. This beer should be your "type O" : IT GOES WITH ANYTHING. Fact: You could drink this at the tailgate or with a fantastic filet... and no one would be upset. A true jack of all trades. Completely drinkable. A must try for anyone who enjoys North Coast.... but not their best outing.

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass
A: Burnt orange color with a one-finger head that lingers FOREVER and plenty of carbonation
S: Tropical fruit, orange/grapefruit and spice
T: Some earthiness, some caramel, some citrus. Balanced but light
M: On the lighter side, crisp
O: This would make a fine session ale but won't be memorable
