A two finger light copper colored head sits atop this foggy, copper brew. As the head recedes it leaves nice lacing around the glass. The aroma is generously highlighted by grassy hops. As the nose balances out, these hops meld with fresh malts, and the faintest hint of caramel. As we sip, it becomes clear that the flavoring is quite simple, and well balanced. The forefront is inhabited by a heavy malt character that carries through nicely, despite the neutralizing addition of hops towards the back of the swallow. The aftertaste is fresh, with the mouth left satiated and moist. The carbonation is medium to light, but is palpable. The body follows suit, on the lighter side, to the point of being a touch watery. This brew is simplistically refreshing, making it easily consumable.
Overall, what was most striking about this beer was the wonderful symmetry of the hops and the malts. As suggested by the label, the brew is created with only the most basic ingredients, and that idea certainly comes through to the finish.
