I was in the middle of a term paper when I felt the craving for something malty... it hit the spot and moved me to review:
A nice amber, transparent hue with lots of small bubbles. Head's a few shades tanner than white and pours to a frothy one finger; looks like the foam on a cappucchino. Head dissapates to a frothy ceiling no taller than a pinky's width (if that).
If you're curious what a caramel malt smells like, take a whiff. There's maybe a faint undertone of citrusy (lemon) hop influence. But overall, I'm expecting a malty experience.
Chewy malt that's semi-sweet, but not sugary. I also catch a taste of toasted grain. There's a nice hop finish, which is succeeded by a slight burnt-malt flavor.
It has a buttery mouthfeel, and the bubbles gently massage my tounge right before the hop finish kicks in.
NCBC is becoming one of my go-to's. This is another relaxing, very drinkable beer. I wouldn't hesitate to pick up a six of Red Seal and make a night of it.
