Pours nicely. Not to be too scientific but it's aq.

Smells fruity and delicious.

Sweet and bitter balanced taste.

Thin but consistent carbonation/ bubbles, not to heavy. Slightly high taste of alcohol that's why it didn't get a 5.

Overall one of my favorite beers of all time!

Served on tap in a chalice glass

Appearance – The beer is served a super hazy orange amber color with a two finger head of a pure white foam. The head has a decent level of retention fading over time to leave a moderate level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.

Smell – The aroma of the beer is big and bready with lots of yeasty smells mixed within. Along with these smells are some biscuit and orange smells along with a rather strong showing of a Belgian spice smell of clove and coriander. Some light bubblegum and a bit of a grainy and grassy smell round of the aroma producing a rather bready and malty triple smell overall.

Taste – The taste begins with a thick biscuit and slightly grainy taste with a whole lot of yeastiness mixed within. As the flavor advances the graininess increases with the biscuit growing a bit lighter. The yeastiness of the brew remains relatively constant, but flavors associated with the yeast increase as the taste moves on. Spice flavors of clove and coriander, which are light upfront, get stronger and stronger as the taste advances to the end. Along with the spice some sweeter flavors also grow with some candied sugar and a bit of an orange growing in potency. Some grass and hay join the taste at the very end with the grainy tastes at this point on the quite high side, which when mixed with all the other flavors of the brew, leave one with a somewhat oddly bready and grainy malted Belgian triple flavor to linger on the tongue.

Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on average side in terms of thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is on the average to slightly lower side. A higher carbonation and slightly thinner body may have been nice for the fruit and yeasty flavors for the brew, all while both downplaying the graininess a bit, which would have been more appropriate for the style.

Overall – A pretty interesting Belgian style ale. A bit more on the grainy side with a somewhat drier taste but all the while pretty easy drinking. While nothing super extraordinary it was rather tasty and is at least worth a try if you have never had it.

12oz bottle to my Chimay Goblet

A: Pours a rich golden ale in the glass with surprisingly bright clarity for a Belgian. Half finger of choppy white seam foam appears for a few moments before resting out to a thin collar. Some light webs and scattered dots of stick left behind.

S: Smells of ripe golden stone fruits with banana peel, coriander spice, and a dash of lemon pepper. There is something slightly musky about the yeast with a dry grass likeness. Bit of underlying white bread and caramel malt sweetness to the nose as well. Overall very clean aromatics with lots of yeast character manifesting.

T: Taste is a very smooth Belgian Style Pale delivering lots of ripe apricot flavors and vibrant yeast notes with a low amount of perceived bitterness. Banana peel, coriander, lemon peel, and cracked pepper come together in unison with some grassy hops and just a slight hint of clove. Touch of grainy malt adds in some light caramel sweetness to balance all of the peppery spice. Getting a soft hint of vanilla mixed in as well. Very nice and refreshing with a tight balance amongst all the flavors and the alcohol kept well in check throughout.

M: Moderate to light body with a mostly smooth consistency. Slightly higher levels of carb give a prickly bite on the palate that accompanies the peppery spice so well. Nice drying crisp action on the finish. Very clean overall.

D: This particular BSPA comes off a bit simple although that might just be the style in general. It is however very refreshing and enjoyable. Just like all of North Coast’s offerings this is a well crafted brew with great balance to it. Would recommend for anyone getting into Belgians like myself.

The real question is who is the Simon Cowell looking dude with the smug look staring at you on the label??? Pranqsters!

Pours a hazy golden lemon with a frothy, billowing white head that slowly dissipates, leaving spotty lacing.

Apricot, pear, tangerine, green apple, and must form the aroma, with a touch of banana and clove adding complexity. Smells like a fruit salad.

Flavor reveals peach as the dominant fruit, underlying a slightly bready malt backbone. There's a bit of coriander and clove at the finish. Notes of pear and green apple distinguish themselves late.

Body is moderate, with carbonation a touch high, and light alcohol warmth.

Probably the most fruity Belgian golden I've tried. Flavor and aroma match very nicely. Just enough malt to add structure. Delicious brew. May be too sweet for some, but I like it.
