Digging around in the fridge for an after-school beer relaxer, I find some leftover winter brews, a couple stouts, a dubbel, and a porter. Excellent beers all, but the mercury just hit seventy degrees, and this lone Pranqster seems to just call out to me.
Pours a dense golden peach, complete with a small frothy head that disappears almost immediately after entry into my chalice.
Smells great, lightly yeasty with a fruity tang down in there.
Spicy right off the bat, mellowing down into fruitiness, with a hint of sugar. When the fruit flavor fades, the malt provides some backbone for the long haul.
Tasty and refreshing, unique enough to enjoy several at a time, if the alcohol doesn't get you first. It may not be the best Belgian to come out of Northern California, but it sure is the most accessible.
