Pranqster by North Coast Brewing.

Let me get out of the way that I'm a huge fan of Belgian style beers. No bias, I just want results!

Smells like orange peel, bananas, yeast, and a peppery note.

Tastes like those notes but there is just something that is off with this beer. Something just not right for this Belgian style. It has this taste that reminds me of BMC beers. An alcohol presence too that is masked (flavor wise) in very good Belgian style beers.

I had high hopes for this but I'm let down greatly. I've had some darn good Belgian offerings from the United States and from the homeland itself. I would not buy this again.

I'm not sure if I'm drinking this incorrectly though. Some beers I've seen recommend swishing the yeast around before adding it to your glass (like Hoegaarden for instance). I've also seen some beers tell you to NOT disturb the yeast when pouring the glass. Since these beer brewers did not specify what their vision is for their beer, I swished the yeast around and added it to the beer. If this substantially changes the overall taste of the beer in a negative way then tell the purchaser ON THE BOTTLE how to pour the beer. Because of this I'm not going to buy this beer again. The way I had it (adding the yeast) did not taste very good, I'm not sure if that changed the overall intended flavor of the beer. I'll never know I guess.

Let this be a lesson for you beer brewers. Adding relevant information to your bottle is significant to many of your buyers...

I expected more from this awesome brewery but not withstanding it is ok.Pours a very thin head that is gone before you can count to 10.Great color and smell throughout. To me it seems like a light Belgian if that is even a category.Rating is a 3.5 because of the brewery alone.Actual rating is a 3.0.They know what they are doing over there at North Coast but this could be a lot better.A mild Belgian that I would like to try on tap to give a more accurate rating.

Pours golden, thin white head, which does not last long. Not very complex in flavor, but good on a hot evening.
Overall, I had higher hopes for this beer.
