Appearance is golden yellow with not much head nor lacing.

Nose is like a blonde Belgian: apricot, juicy fruit, and a mild floral component.

Taste is delicious. Light malt and juicy fruit are the main notes. There is also a mild woodiness and nuttiness. The flavor really "pops."

Mouthfeel is very freshing; almost juicy. It is also very creamy. It has a good amount of carbonation and a clean finish.

Overall, the appearance is deceptively unimpressive because the flavor and mouthfeel are spot-on to style, and a pleasure to drink.

-gold in color with a nice tall white head which slowly trickles down over time

-the nose is full of yeast smell accompanied by some banana and apple. there is a decent malt smell in there as well

-the belgian yeast taste is in there, but it's not overpowering. there is also some cider taste in there and almost a dirty-like malt taste as well

-dry and full bodied with a medium carb bite

-this is a solid belgian offering. it is nothing that really blows my socks off, but is tasty enough and would never mind if someone put one in my hand

Served from the bottle into a globed Dogfish Head glass

A- Poured a very clear golden orange color, not a ton of carbonation, but visible tiny bubbles shooting up the glass, semi fluffy head that looked great and dissipated rapidly. Left little lace.

S- Big aroma of lemon, barnyard funk, sweet bready notes, caramel, apple, clove, banana, and bubblegum. A really nice complex aroma, reminiscent of a saison and tripel in the nose.

T- Big sweet citrus notes are most prominent, belgian candy like sweetness, cotton candy, apple, and clove notes. Finishes with some bitterness

M- Sticky, but not syrupy. Soft mouthfeel. Bitterness on the finish makes the finish a little more dry and breaks up some of the sweetness.

O- A really complex smelling and tasting beer. Definitely much more on the sweet side than spiced. A really great value for a Belgian style beer, I think I picked up a single for $2 and some change.

A: pours creamy pale hazy straw with fluffy tan head

S: citrusy and vegetal, sweet

T: not as creamy as a Gnomegang, not as sharp as a Duvel - somewhere in the middle; light fruits and spice; a good balance between sweet and bitter

M: more substantial than you might expect, bright and rich at the same time

O: This fall right in-between two of my favorite beers, both Belgian Strong Pales, and naturally, I'm going to like it. It is the midpoint between creamy and crisp, but leans more toward sweet than bitter, with a nice bouquet of flavors and aromas. North Coast has a perfect record with me so far (tried Old Rasputin and Old Stock Ale).
