I picked this up at a local Trader Joes, It was selling in a four pack for under 10 dollars.
I would rate the appearance on this as just average, as the appearance on a Stout is never really that great, but the fact that this poured an amazingly thick head which is just clinging to the walls as it bubbles away.
Its got an amazingly thick coffee and chocolate malt aroma, that smells actually rather bitter.
Wow, I might need to redefine my view of flavorful. This hits you with a very strong mocha, with a perfect balance between chocolate, milk, and bitter espresso. But its got a different level to it which leaves you asking "Is that a little bit of mint? Could that be a bit of a tart fruit also?"
I in truth have never experienced a mouth feel that was so smooth that packed that amount of flavor, but the downfall with most dark beers is while they taste great, and may have a great mouth feel, you never really want to just drink them non stop.
