On tap at South Park Tavern. Very deep brown, nearly black. Thin mocha head looks inviting. Eventually a thin collar forms, and some spots of lace.
Roasty notes, espresso and dark chocolate. Caramel, dark fruit and some earthy, almost ashy notes.
Roasted malts and fairly dry up front. Espresso notes, bittersweet dark chocolate and some caramel. Not much dark fruit. Bitter roasty notes linger for a while, just like a nice espresso at the end of a meal.
Great body, with a lower amount of carbonation. Alcohol is hidden very well in this. I really like the dark chocolate/espresso character in this. Well made.

Okay, here goes.
I poured this into a pint glass.
The appearance was a jet black color with a thin half finger of off white to slight tan foamy head. There was a gentle spider web lacing sticking but ending up sliding a bit into the beer.
The smell had some nice roasty to sweet chocolates with a decent amount of light roasty coffee.
The taste was mainly sweet with a nice roasty chocolate quality to it. There is also a nice long dry chocolate aftertaste with a very satisfying sweet finish.
The mouthfeel seems to be fairly creamy and sweet.
Overall, so glad to have this again tonight for a nice touch of a revisit and that I have three more of these to cherish.

Aroma: Sweet, bitter, dark chocolate with hints of licorice and alcohol
Appearance: Pours rich black with enormous head that settles into a nice, tan finger of frothy luxury
Taste: Medium sweetness up front giving way to a lightly bitter aftertaste
Palate: Light bodied with a thin oily texture, finishing with a long bitter finale.
Overall: A very good imperial stout
