Appearance: Old Rasputin has a beautiful pitch black body and pours a two inch brown, foamy head.
Smell: Sweet roasted malts, dark coffee beans, bitter chocolate, and a pinch of alcohol are all apparent.
Taste: Flavors and then more flavors! The taste cycles among flavors of sweet roasted malts, bitter chocolate, coffee, and some kind of dark fruit, almost like raisins. This is probably the most complex stout I've ever tasted and yet so smooth. There is a slight burn from the alcohol in the aftertaste, which just adds to the complexity in my opinion.
Mouth feel: The beer feels creamy and heavy, just like a stout should.
Overall: Once again, this is a complex, flavorful stout. I was expecting it to be good, but not this good.
