A flagship Impy Stout. Great consistancy on batches, good distribution, and overall a great true-to-style RIS.
Had this brew as a halfpint at the North Coast Brewing in Fort Bragg.
Deep deep brown, not black, and barely any light gets through it.
Aroma is a crazy cocoa bomb, with some coffee dryness and espresso.
Some alcohol warming from the 9%er and waves of chocolate, coffee, roasted burnt malt, and some sugary molassas sweetness.
Thick syrupy mouthfeel, not as potent as abyss or dark lord, but it's up there. A good slow sipper of a beer.
Serving type: on-tap
