Had this both on-tap and in bottle, and surprisingly, the bottle was superior to the tap, god knows why, so I averaged the two ratings.
A - Black as night, opaque, no light going through this stuff. 1/2 pinky of head, darker grey colored.
S - Typical quality Imperial, nice hints of chocolate, maltiness, slight hop quality to it.
T - Great, tastes of smooth chocolate and the hops make their presence subtley known. The chocolate malt is clearly the forefront. Alcohol taste is very effectively masked by the fantastic flavors.
M - Thick, decent carbonation, not overpowering or underwhelming. Good balance. The creaminess is praiseworthy.
O - Does it live up to the hype? That, lads and ladies, is up to the drinker. In my opinion, the bottle lived up, whereas the tap did not. Anyways, both were great choices; drinkable, flavorful, nice ABV and cleverly masked. Recommended.
