A- black with no light making its way through. somewhat modest head, but what's there is dense. pretty good lacing
S- alcohol is most prominent, although the roasted malts do an impressive job of pushing through the 9% abv. coffee is on the nose as well as undertones of chocolate.
T- the alcohol throws the first punch, but it backtracks quickly. tons of roasted malts with a little bit of hops that make it fairly bitter. hints of chocolate and caramel malts are in the finish to add a little balance.
O- i was surprised the first time i drank this beer when i found out it was 9%. the intensity of the roasted malts mask the alcohol very well. incredibly drinkable for the style.
