Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a snifter glass.

Poured jet black with a three-finger tan head that took several minutes to dissipate. It left a small amount of lacing.

It had a light coffee aroma. Smelled malty with a bit of a dark fruit aroma.

Some hoppy bitterness at first followed by darker chocolatey flavors with some very faint fruitiness. Roasty aftertaste with definite coffee notes and a lingering bitterness.

Smooth feel with plenty of carbonation. Satisfyingly chewy.

Overall a fine beer with rich, traditional stout flavors. Would drink it again anytime I am looking for a good, strong stout.

In comparison to Narwahl, not as smooth good caramel taste. Still pretty good

My favorite beer. Dark, but beautiful. Like many Russian Imperial Stouts, it's high in alcohol content. That being said, it's awesome. For a craft beer, it's fairly priced. Definitely worth a try if you haven't!

Pours and inky black with copious off white/tannish head with lacing that endures
Smells of carob, coffee, rich malty and toasty with a fair amount of non specific dark fruit esters and slight floral hoppy notes
Tastes of rich, dark malts, smokey and perhaps a bit leathery with the sweetness offset by the hops bitter notes.
Milky smooth and mid to full bodied, surprisingly clean finish

Overall: Complex and delicious, I understand why this beer has such a faithful following, and I would definitely purchase this cold weather sipper again. ABV well hidden by the complex flavors.

Excellent from visual, aroma, to mouthfeel and taste. Bench mark for Imperial stouts.
